Adding Humor to Your Writing

Hi there!

Earlier this year, I accepted the role of Host for the IWOSC Westside Satellite. We had a couple dinner meetings and finally found a home for our gatherings in September.

For October, I’m very excited to have lined up a very funny guy - author, playwright and reporter Ray Richmond (story collection My Greatest Day in Show Business and play Transition). He’ll be talking with us about “Writing Funny: How to use humor to enhance your writing.” Besides reading from those two works and chatting with us about the dynamics of humor, Ray will also talk about his 2008 interview with George Carlin, the last one done of the astringent stand-up.

Location: St. Mary’s of Palms, 3647 Watseka Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90034 (meeting room is on the north side of the church by the parking lot)
Parking: Small church lot and street parking
Cost: $5 (to cover room rental and expenses). Bring cash – pay at the door.

Parking: Stay where you are near church and walk, or move to metered parking or municipal lot in downtown Culver City.
Cost for meal:  Pay your own – lunch prices till 4 PM!
